The 2020 NDIS price guide, effective from 1st of December 2020 is available here.
It contains the price limits, support categories, descriptions and line items to help you identify what is claimable. Changes include:
- Telehealth – Clarification of claiming arrangements for supports
delivered by Telehealth. A new ‘Telehealth’ claim field has been added to the MyPlace provider portal for supports delivered through telehealth. - ECI supports – Providers of capacity building ECI supports can enter into an agreement with a participant for programs of support along with 1:1 sessions. Please see the increased price limits.
- Support Coordination – If you don’t have support coordination available in capacity building, you can access it through CORE – Assistance with Daily Life.
- Level 2 – Support Coordination, line item 01_791_0106_8_3 remains the same rate @ $100.14 per hour
- Level 3 – Specialist Coordination, line item 01_794_0132_8_3 rate is $190.54 per hour
- Assistive Technology (AT) – Participants can still buy electronic devices to maintain services during COVID (until end Feb 2021). Support items are available so participants discharged from hospital have immediate access to AT needed to be safe at home (until end Feb 2021).
In most cases, you’ll need a therapist to justify why the device is required. Use reasonable and necessary criteria, explain that the device is a low cost low risk item, that the device is not available from other mainstream providers and identify how the device will reduce risks / barriers to achieving the goals in your plan.
I’ve found most plan managers accept an email outlining above from an allied health professional, but suggest you speak to your plan manager and/or NDIA before submitting the invoice. Most plan managers I’ve spoken to advise the cost needs to sit below $750 per item, although I’ve seen approved items of up to $1,500 with allied health justification.
